SafeCall: confidential support
If you’re away from home, thinking about leaving, or something just doesn’t feel right—SafeCall is here for you.
We’re a free, confidential support service for young people. Whether you’re feeling unsafe, unsure, or just need someone to talk to, we’re here to listen, without pressure or judgement.
We support young people throughout the UK to navigate times of crisis, as part of the charity Missing People. Some people might call it ‘running away’, ‘escaping’, ‘going missing’, ‘disappearing’ or just ‘leaving’. If you feel like you need to leave your home or place of care, or are being encouraged or pressured to leave by others – we are here to help. Our service is totally anonymous, meaning you don’t need to tell us your real name.
Our team of experienced advisers are here to provide practical advice and information, including how to find a safe place to stay, access resources, and – if you want to – reconnect with family or carers.
Chat With Us
Our Helpline is available, every day of the year. It’s a safe, anonymous way to get support, explore your options, and find out what help is available.
If you want to speak to a real person, our helpline team is available daily. You can reach us by calling or texting 116 000 or chatting with us online.
You’re in control of how and when you reach out. Whatever feels right for you.

Your Privacy Matters
At Safecall, we believe you have the right to talk in confidence—on your terms.
- You’re in control: You decide what to share. We won’t ask for personal details unless you want us to take action on your behalf.
- We don’t track you: Our systems don’t show us your location, and your phone bill won’t show that you contacted us.
- You can stay anonymous: If you do share your details, we’ll keep them safe and confidential.
- We’ll always talk to you first: If we’re ever seriously worried about your safety or someone else’s, we may need to involve emergency services—but we’ll always try to speak with you about it first.
